MODE: The IELTS test is a paper-based test. Be aware! Not beware, but be warned : ) You should spend some time practicing your handwriting! There are four modules and except for the Speaking Test, they are all paper based. However, you need to write at length only for the Writing Test. Listening and Reading Tests answers are one to three word answers.

DURATION : The test is for 2 hours & 45 minutes.

SCORE : Total score is out of 9 Bands. Scoring is between 0-9. The scores are valid for 2 years

FEES : In India INR 7900/-

IELTS Test Pattern :-

All candidates must complete four Modules - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking to obtain an IELTS Test Report Form.

Candidates are tested in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking Modules. There is a choice between Academic and General Training in the Reading and Writing Modules. You would have signed up for either Academic or General at the time of your registration for the test.

Listening:-
4 Sections
40 Items
30 minutes

Academic Reading:-
40 Items
60 minutes

OR

General Training Reading:-
3 Sections
40 items
60 minutes

Academic Writing:-
2 Tasks - A short essay on pictorial information presented in a graph, pie-chart etc. and a longer essay on a given topic. 150 words for the graph based essay and at least 250 words for the essay
60 minutes

OR

 General Training Writing:-
2 Tasks- Letter and Essay 150 words for the letter and at least 250 words for the essay
60 minutes

 Speaking:- 11 to 14 minutes
 The Speaking Test might be conducted a few days before, though it is usually scheduled after the written tests. You will be invited to a separate room for a 10-15 minute interview, one on one with an examiner. The interview will be recorded. In Mumbai, this usually isn't at the test venue; it might be held in a hotel, such as ITC in Parel.
